CCC is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial founding Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to build a company that will foster groundbreaking strategies, thought leadership, and activities to help businesses to define and effectuate their civic roles.

As a CEO, you will be responsible for the overall business strategy, execution, and success of CCC. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and work closely with a network of business advisors and partners critical to our mission. In addition to the day-day responsibilities for building a world-class consulting firm, we are looking for a CEO who will be seen as a high-profile, critical thought leader in the emerging field of Corporate Civic Responsibility. The issues arising from political polarization are varied and emerge rapidly. Your ability to help our clients define their core values/principles and implement an effective response will be key indicators of success in this role.

The ideal CEO candidate will have built a professional services firm, run a major practice area within a top-tier consulting organization, or been a CEO of a medium to a large company. He/she will be mainly responsible for developing business and leading high-profile client engagements in the C-suite. We intend to hire a COO to focus on the internal operations, research, and administrative areas of the business.

This is a unique opportunity to build and launch a professional services firm that will deliver nonpartisan advisory services to the C-suite executives and boards of Fortune 2000 companies and as well as a turnkey offering to the middle market. Your ability to recruit senior consultants, build a suite of professional services, lead research activities, and rapidly scale a professional services firm will be keys to success in this role.

Reporting to the BOD, you will have overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction of the organization including responsibility for all areas of the business. You will ensure that the organization's leadership maintains a constant awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, clients, markets, and new industry developments.

CEO - Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit an executive team and manage the professional services, research, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and government/community affairs roles in CCC

  • Develop frameworks, services, and intellectual property to allow CCC to deliver world-class C-suite professional services to address the issues related to CCR

  • Build and lead the sales and marketing function to enable the proper go-to-market activities for CCC

  • Manage the production of cutting-edge nonpartisan research to support the services portfolio and needs of our clients

  • Maintain a high profile as a key thought leader in the field of CCR

  • Partner with other leading organizations in the fields of CSR, CCR, and adjacent fields to accelerate CCC’s mission and scale the organization in the most effective manner

  • Execute CCC’s business strategy in a manner to ensure that CCC meets its financial and non-financial goals

  • Build expert-level understanding of the vertical and develop strategies to maintain and grow our leadership position.

  • Monitor, measure, and report on operations, opportunities, and development plans against company objectives

  • Build and maintain relationships with academic thought leaders in the field of CPR

  • Build trusted relationships with key business partners and stakeholders

  • Oversee all CCC investment decisions

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and lead by example

  • Set a high bar for -- and oversee compliance with -- all legal guidelines, business ethics standards, and CCC policies

CEO - Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for American democracy and free enterprise, deep experience in the strategy consulting or professional services space, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong track record of developing relationships and nurturing talent.

  • 10+ years prior experience leading a professional services organization selling and delivering advisory services to C-suite executives or deep experience as a CEO of a medium or large company

  • Proven track record building teams and ideally scaling professional services organizations, and managing a P&L of at least $20 million

  • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills

  • Experience in driving thought leadership and analysis

  • Experience in ESG or government affairs a plus

  • Experience and track record leading diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
